Visitor's Center
All visitors are required to report here first and get a visitor's pass. This building houses the exhibition titled "The Migration Story" which we advise all visitors to see first. Everyone is given a brochure here that serves as their tour guide during the visit. Audio tapes are available here for visits to the 1894 School and 1890 Farm.
Self Guided Tours
The brochure given to visitors at the visitor's center will serve as a tour guide. It will enable visitors to tour the museum on their own. They are free to go anywhere they please after the Visitor's Center. Because our site extends for almost a mile, we ask that those visiting plan to take a few hours for a leisurely stroll into history.
Photography
Feel free to photography anything anywhere. We would love to see your photos! Please share them with us on our Facebook Page at www.facebook.com/settlersmuseum
Simple Rules
Artifacts: Treat everything on our site as if it were given to you by your favorite grandmother. It's all precious.
Smoking: Don't smoke beyond the parking lot. Our worst fear is senseless burning of our irreplaceable heritage.
Food: Don't carry food or drinks beyond the parking area. Use our pretty picnic shelter.
Trash: Put your trash in the cans. Our people are all volunteers not trash men.
Pets: Don't take your pets beyond the parking area. If they need relief, you can make the exception of walking them in the hay field next to the shelter.
Safety: And be careful. We want you to enjoy your visit safely.
